SmartPrevent participated in ICDP 2015

On July 15, 16 and 17, the sixth ICDP (6th International Conference on Imaging for Crime Prevention and Detection) took place in London. This biennial conference is held with the aim of discussing the present and future of the technologies based on images for crime detection and prevention. Delinquency and antisocial behavior have a great cost for society.

The use of computerized surveillance systems is becoming more and more necessary, enabling the automation of the detection and anticipation of dangerous situations, thereby increasing safety. This Conference is an exceptional meeting point for personalities from different disciplines linked to crime prevention and detection by means of artificial vision techniques to exchange information on applications and new approaches to image technology. They share experiences, identify collaborations and consider the social impact of technologies such as surveillance systems, multi-camera architectures, robust computer vision algorithms, etc.

Treelogic presented the R&D project SmartPrevent. This project develops a multi-camera video-safety system for supporting the public security forces in the detection of crimes in urban areas, representing a valuable example of the application of Computer Vision technologies in crime prevention.
